Here’s a great use for a ‘tattoo’ – letting diabetics check their blood sugar levels using a nanosensor ‘tattoo’ and an iPhone in a special case.

While it’s still early days for the technology, which has many medical applications, we’re hoping we’ll see this in our day to day lives soon.

Researchers from Northwestern University and the University of Illinois have developed some flexible electronics that can be applied to the skin like one of our temporary tattoos and in the future will be able to monitor heart, brain and muscle activity. No doubt there will be some cool non-medical uses for them too.
