Get a temporary flag tattoo for the Olympics

Monday, February 13th, 2012

English flag temporary tattooWant to celebrate the Olympics in London this year, but don’t want to get permanently inked?

We’ve got a range of flag temporary tattoos which are perfect for showing your allegiance for an event, but let you clean it off before getting back to work the next day.

As well as English flag tattoos, we’ve got ones for various European countries and Brazil. Usually people want them for football matches, and you can certainly double up on your order and use them for Euro 2012 as well.

Euro 2012 is on from 8th June to 1st July, and the Olympics starts on 27th July, so any tattoos you don’t use during the cup battle – and lets face it, we might not be in there for long – you can use during the Olympics instead. If we do get through to the cup final and you slather yourself in your remaining temporary designs (do send us some pictures!) you’ll have plenty of time to get some more before the Olympics opening ceremony.

A very happy Christmas to all of our friends on the internet!

We hope you’re having a good day and if you’re reading this while a little sozzled, it’s much better to decide to get one of our tattoos than a permanent one, with ours you can always change your mind when you sober up. Plus, how many permanent tattoos can you get delivered to your door? Not a lot!

Temporary Tattoos: A Saucy Stocking Filler

Saturday, December 10th, 2011

Need a slightly naughty stocking filler for your loved one this Christmas? Get them a temporary tattoo or two.

Playing hunt-the-tattoo is a wonderful way to spend an evening after a stressful day of being nice to your family or in-laws. If you have some imagination, it can lead to all sorts of stress-relieving activities.

We recommend the star tattoos for good hunting, as they come in several pretty designs. The cascading stars are especially good for leading your lover in a particular direction. Our temporary designs come off with a little baby oil, which you may find useful for other things too.

If you’d like to order one of our temporary tattoo designs, we can get them to you by Christmas if you order them on or before Tuesday 20th December.

Friend wanting a tattoo? Get them a temporary one first

Thursday, December 8th, 2011

We’ve all had a friend or family member who gets obsessed by the idea of having a tattoo. They love a band and they know they’ll want to commemorate it forever, or there’s a singer they want to copy, or they simply fall in love with a particular design.

A lot of times this leads to arguments, especially if the person in question is young. If they nag enough, will they get their parent’s consent to the tattoo? Does their mother or father think it’s a bad idea and know they’ll go off the design, but only after they’ve got a permanent reminder of their obsession?

If you know someone who’d love a tattoo, but can’t afford it or isn’t allowed to have one, why not get them a temporary tattoo as a present this Christmas?

If you already know what sort of design they’d like, you could buy multiple packs of it. Then they can wear it in the same spot for several weeks and make sure they definitely do want a permanent copy for the rest of their life. You’ll want to get enough so they get past the first few days of people reacting to the tattoo, and in to the phase where they’re living with it past a novelty. Our temporary tattoos last 2-3 days of normal wear, so you shouldn’t need a new one every day.

If you don’t know what they want, choose a few designs, especially more generic ones like star tattoos and tribal designs, and hopefully something you get will hit the mark for them. At least they’ll get a chance to try out some different looks.

With a temporary tattoo, they can try out what it’s like to have a design on their body, how they like it in the mirror, and see people’s reactions to it. If they decide they don’t like a design, or go off the whole idea of having a tattoo when they see what they look like, it’s only a matter of moments to remove one, it’s not like they’d need surgery like a permanent one would. It can help them avoid making a mistake that they’ll have to live with forever, or to choose a design they they love so much they’re sure they want it.

If you’d like to order one of tattoo designs, we can get them to you by Christmas if you order them on or before Tuesday 20th December.

Wills and Kate to join in royal inking

Thursday, April 28th, 2011

We all know that tattoos have become much more popular over recent years, but didn’t realise it had moved up in to royal circles.

Rumours are as well as their formal rings, young William and Catherine will be getting matching tattoos after their wedding tomorrow. Planned for their ring fingers, so normally hidden by their rings, William’s will bear a ‘K’ at the front for Kate, and in turn Catherine’s will have a ‘W’. Apparently the palm-side will hold a tiny message to each other, but we haven’t been able to find out what that will be yet.

With his navy background, William is used to seeing tattoos but previously it was thought his bride-to-be stopped him having one on his back. Perhaps with the wedding day arriving she’s decided to relent a little. At least Will is not following his brother’s example and having his bottom branded, he has decided on something more subtle.

Exactly when the tattooing will be carried out is unclear. Although they will be small, they will still have a healing period to get through and that may prove unsightly in these days of telephoto lenses and high-definition television. We’ll keep our eyes peeled, and please comment if you do notice anything.

Whilst we of course wish them all the best, dare we suggest that after the brilliant success of William’s parents marriage, and his uncle Andrew’s marriage, and his aunt Anne’s marriage, that they may want to look in to a nice temporary tattoo rather than permanent inking?

Cricket Tattoos

Wednesday, December 22nd, 2010

In the past we’ve looked at footballer tattoos on the Tattoo Fashion blog but as the Ashes are now well under way we decided it was only fair to give tattooed cricketers a mention as well. So here are some of our favourite tattooed bowlers and batsman from the cricketing world:

Andrew Flintoff
Although Freddie has now retired from the game we think he still deserves an honourable mention. The talented all rounder has the Three Lions along with his test match player number etched into his right arm.

Mitchell Johnson
Australian fast bowler Johnson has several tattoos including a massive cat on the left side of his torso and a full sleeve on his right arm.

Kevin Pieterson
Although Kevin Pieterson is originally from South Africa he plays his international cricket for England. To Mark his pride for his adopted country Pieterson, like Flintoff, has the Three Lions marked on his upper bicep.

At Tattoo Fashion we supply a variety of temporary celebrity tattoos that will allow you to look as great as your favourite celebs if only for a short amount of time.

Tattoo Removal

Monday, November 15th, 2010

Tattoos can be amazing pieces of art, but unfortunately, not all of us are as proud of our ink work now as we were when we got it. Whether changes in career, social pressure or a change of lifestyle, there can be many reasons why someone may want to have a tattoo removed. We decided to put together a list of some of the most common reasons a lot of people decide to get their tats removed:

1. Lovers Scorned
Relationships change, it’s a fact of life. Whilst we are in a relationship, we want to believe that we will be with our partner for the rest of our lives. Sometimes it’s not that easy and having to look at the name of your ex every time you get out of the shower could make it that little bit worse. Angelina Jolie has had former husbands names removed or tattooed over and Pamela Anderson famously changed the tattoo on her ring finger from ‘Tommy’ to ‘Mommy’.

2. Career Change
According to the Harvard Business Review, having a tattoo is no longer a problem if you want to get into industries like advertising, sales, marketing and technology. But nevertheless, tattoo removal might be the way forward if you’re looking to venture into a career in banking, law, accounting and to some extent the Clergy.

3. Parenting
The tattoos of youth may have been something of excitement and pride. As you get married and start to have children you might find yourself wanting to become a more traditional role model and those once admired love-hate tattoos of your teenage rocker days may not seem so cool in front of your young children.

4. Out of Style
Fashions change and someone choosing to have a tattoo based on current styles may find themselves coming up short when the fad passes and they are left with an unsightly tattoo of an Emo star with a tribal band around it.

5. No interest
It is perfectly natural for everyone’s tastes to change throughout time and it may just be the case they have no interest in the body art they once loved. We can clearly see why the guy in this picture chose to have his tattoo removed…

Tattoo removal technology is advancing, but it is never going to be as easy, quick and painless as removing one of our expertly made temporary tattoos no matter where you choose to place them.

Tattoo Technology

Wednesday, November 3rd, 2010

Tattooing is one of the oldest forms of body modification, but beyond advances in sterilisation, the industry hasn’t really taken too many technological steps forward in the last few years. However, here are a couple quirky developments that could be making there way into the mainstream soon.

Diabetics could soon have tattoos of nano-particles that glow under a special light to detect whether the sufferer needs an insulin shot, cancelling out the need to prick a finger and check the blood that way, potentially increasing the standard of living for diabetics everywhere.

A not as useful and rather daft development, LED implants are more of a body modification than a tattoo but they could soon become a way to tell the time, without having to go through the “hassle” of putting on a watch. This ill advised and currently illegal procedure could save you 15 seconds a day, that’s a potential saving of four days and five hours throughout your life time, by surgically implanting a watch. Here at Tattoo Fashion we would much rather have a real watch or look at a nice decorative timepiece. At least then you have an excuse for tardiness and not knowing the time.

We wouldn’t suggest these procedures as they are currently still in development and we’re not sure the LED wristwatch would ever get our seal of approval but how about getting a tried and tested temporary tattoo or perhaps even a body tattoo?

Should tattoos be outlawed?

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

When we were growing up as tattoo obsessed children, our parents used to tell us the odd tall story about how tattoos would one day be illegal, and anyone with them would have to go to prison. Luckily for us their threats turned out to be lies and obviously we never believed them anyway – yeah right!

However, in California (which we thought was supposed to be the land of the free living?) one tattoo artist is having some serious legal problems. Johnny Anderson, owner of ‘Yer Cheat’n Heart Tattoo Parlour’, wanted to move his shop from Gardena to Hermosa Beach because his current location is a little…. on the shabby side, apparently.

When Anderson applied for a new permit in the more up market neighbourhood of Hermosa Beach, the local authorities turned down his application because local laws state that tattoo parlours are illegal in the area. An understandably shocked Mr. Anderson then proceeded to take local legislators to court on the grounds that creating tattoos was a form of “communication and art” and therefore should be “protected by free speech laws”.

Unluckily for Anderson the judge ruled against him, so he decided to take the case to a federal court, but sadly they ruled in the cities favour too. Still undeterred, Anderson is planning to appeal against the federal court’s ruling. Legal experts in the US believe he’s got a good chance of getting the decision overturned as they say tattooing should be considered a form of art rather than a simply a business service.

Here at Tattoo Fashion we will all be crossing our fingers for Anderson. Hopefully he’ll be able to open his brand new shop in new and nicer surroundings as soon as possible and get what he deserves!

If you live in Hermosa Beach, or anywhere else where tattoos are deemed to be illegal (even if by illegal you just mean not allowed by your mum) then have a look at our temporary tattoos.
